What's the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA seeks a mid-level scientist to serve as project chemist and quality assurance manager and to oversee laboratory coordination and data management. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of combined commercial environmental laboratory or environmental consulting experience with an emphasis on quality assurance and quality control components, reporting, validation, and the EPA National Functional Guidelines.

Responsibilities:
As part of our internal chemistry team, the candidate will support projects across the United States and Canada with field, laboratory, and validation coordination.
* Coordinate, manage, track, process, and review laboratory produced data
* Conduct data validation and data validation peer reviews
* Work with project teams conducting environmental investigations following detailed technical work plans
* Develop Quality Assurance Project Plans, Sampling and Analysis Plans, data validation reports, data usability assessments, and data reports
* Integrate with other Anchor QEA groups to manage the flow of data

What Are We Looking For?
Ideal candidates will have the following:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related discipline
* 5+ years of combined commercial environmental laboratory or environmental consulting experience
* Experience performing chemical analyses in an academic or commercial setting
* Understanding of analytical methods (e.g., EPA SW-846, Standard Methods, ASTM) for metals, inorganic, and organic contaminants
* Expertise with complex sampling matrices including sediments and biota
* Proficiency with mixtures of chemicals, including PAHs, PCBs, dioxins/furans, and PFAS
* Ability to review anomalous chemistry results, identify potential non-conformances, and recommend corrective actions.
* Experience with data review and data validation procedures (EPA National Functional Guidelines) and corrective actions to address data quality issues
* Experience in writing and reviewing data validation reports
* Familiarity with laboratory data processing, LIMS software and EDD generation.
* Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and technical writing skills
* Ability to communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, other consultants, and technical experts on complex analytical chemistry issues
* Be a self-motivated, creative problem solver who is able to work both independently and in a team environment
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment

Salary and Other Compensation:
* Salary Range: $87,900 - $98,800 annually
* Annual Bonus
* Other potential bonus types: Billable Time Bonus, Spot Bonus, Milestone Anniversary Bonus, Receiving Professional License/Certification Bonus, Peer-reviewed Publication Bonus, Employee Referral Bonus.

Base Level Benefits for Regular Full-Time Positions:

* Paid Company and Floating Holidays: 7 paid company and 2 floating holidays annually
* Vacation: 2 weeks accrued paid vacation based on length of service. Vacation may vary by level.
