Job Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our Front Office team, specializing in Equities, Fixed Income (FI), and Derivatives. The successful candidate will play a critical role in conducting in-depth data analysis, working closely with the portfolio management team, and ensuring the smooth functioning of portfolio management systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with data analysis, SQL, Excel, and hands-on familiarity with portfolio management systems. Knowledge of FactSet is a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
Perform detailed and comprehensive data analysis for Front Office teams working with Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives to support portfolio management decisions.
- Portfolio Management Systems:
Actively work with Portfolio Management Systems (PMS), ensuring data integrity, and help streamline data flows between trading, risk management, and reporting systems.
- Collaboration:
Work closely with senior portfolio managers and front-office traders to understand data needs, deliver actionable insights, and support decision-making processes.
- SQL & Excel Expertise:
Use SQL for querying databases and Excel for advanced data analysis and reporting. Develop and maintain ad-hoc reports, automated dashboards, and data pipelines to meet the needs of the team.
- Problem-Solving & Optimization:
Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, or inefficiencies in portfolio management processes and recommend improvements.
- FactSet Integration:
Leverage FactSet tools for performance analysis, risk assessment, and other relevant analytics, ensuring smooth integration with internal systems.
- Data Quality & Governance:
Ensure that data quality is maintained across all systems, verifying accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal standards.
- Mentorship & Leadership:
Provide guidance to junior analysts, helping them develop technical skills and a deeper understanding of front-office data analysis.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience
in data analysis or a similar role, with a strong focus on portfolio management systems and front-office support.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL
for querying and managing large data sets.
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and complex formulas. Experience with Excel-based financial modeling is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with portfolio management systems(such as Charles River, Bloomberg AIM, or others).
- Experience with FactSet
or similar financial data platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Equity, Fixed Income, and Derivatives
trading and portfolio management strategies.
- Experience in data visualization tools(e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for generating insights and presenting results.
- Knowledge of programming languages
like Python or R for data analysis is a plus.
