THE POSITION

Are you a seasoned inspector eager to step into a more challenging position? The Bureau of Medical Marijuana (BMM) is on the lookout for Safety Inspectors to help uphold operational standards across various facilities. In this role, you will conduct inspections, engage with, and monitor compliance for Medical Marijuana Dispensaries, Grower Processors, and Clinical Registrants. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will perform both physical and administrative evaluations of Medical Marijuana Organizations (MMOs) to assess their operational status, completion of alterations, handling of complaints, and adherence to ongoing compliance as mandated by BMM regulations and laws. Your responsibilities will encompass the inspection of medical marijuana seeds, clones, plants, harvested materials, processing substances, ancillary products, inert ingredients, overall facility cleanliness, operational practices, storage conditions, and any signs of mold, mildew, insects, or other factors that could compromise the final product's safety as specified in the regulations. Furthermore, you will prepare Notices of Deficiencies based on your inspection results and evaluate corrective action plans. You will also engage in communication with MMOs, offering technical assistance related to MMO regulations.
Travel for this position is within Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry, York, Bradford, Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Sullivan, Snyder, Tioga, Union, Lycoming and Potter Counties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Safety Inspector Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience inspecting commercial, industrial, healthcare or other buildings or structures, machines, apparatus, devices or equipment for compliance with applicable safety codes and regulations; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
