Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Our Englewood location is looking for a Laboratory Technician.The Metrology & Impulse Laboratory Technician operates multiple specialized testing machines and is responsible for all phases of testing: test installation, setup, and removal, equipment operation and troubleshooting, test monitoring, data acquisition, and test data entry and reporting. You'll support engineers and technicians, and other laboratory operations or initiatives.




  • Operation of specialized impulse testing machines for testing of hydraulic hose. Installation and removal of hydraulic hoses. Set / adjust controls, operate data acquisition systems. Monitoring of testing parameters
  • Performing various tests on hydraulic hoses or materials. Includes operation of specialized hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical equipment, and the use of chemicals. Set and adjust controls, operate data acquisition systems. Monitoring of test parameters.
  • Building hydraulic hose assemblies and preparing various materials test samples. Includes operation of equipment including saws, crimpers, and skivers, and taking precise measurements.
  • Test data entry into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as required. Completing status reports of current testing and equipment status.
  • Provides support to engineers and other technicians for development and non-standard testing. Trains other personnel on test procedures and equipment.
  • Limited equipment maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions. Other tasks or duties as assigned.
  • Support continuous improvement and quality activities such as procedure and process improvements, cleanliness, and organization (5S).

Keys to Success

  • Attention to detail - following procedures, taking data, understanding testing requirements.
  • Experience and knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and/or electrical machinery and systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of calibration equipment
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Understanding of mechanical laboratory test equipment and measurement tools
  • Understanding of manufacturing, laboratory settings, or quality assurance
  • Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Good planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to analyze and trouble shoot test related equipment and/or procedural issues
  • Ability to setup and utilize data acquisition systems

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • May provide informal guidance and support to team members
  • Likely to act as an informal resource for associates with less experience

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Associates degree OR High School Diploma and 3+ years relevant experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of product lines (hoses, couplings, belts, tensioners, etc.)
  • Ability to meet training objectives in Training Matrix applicable to group at this level at manager's discretion
  • Experience and knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical machinery and systems.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Understanding of mechanical laboratory test equipment
  • Understanding of manufacturing, laboratory settings, or quality assurance
  • Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Good planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot test-related equipment and/or procedural issues

PAY & BENEFITS



  1. Full-Time: $28.00 - $31.00 / hour
  2. Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits beginonthe first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  3. Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
  4. 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
  5. Tuition Reimbursement
