The Business School brings together a world-class faculty, top-notch students, and influential business partners. With classes offered during the day, in the evening, and online, the Business School is the largest graduate school of business in the region and the first choice of business professionals; undergraduate business programs are recently revised and rapidly growing.

The Accounting area of the Business School of the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for a Visiting Professor of Accounting (Open Rank). The start date for this position is August 2025.

What you will do:

A successful candidate can expect to be responsible for research, teaching, and service (negotiable). The position requires the candidate to conduct high-quality academic research in Accounting. The normal teaching load consists of 4 courses per year. Classes assigned are in an on-campus or online format during the day and evening, depending on departmental or program needs. The successful candidate is expected to reside in the Denver metro area during their time under contract.

  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.


Required Qualifications for Visiting Assistant or Associate:



  • A Ph.D., DBA or ABD in Accounting from an AACSB accredited Business School before the position's start date


Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)

Preferred Qualifications for Visiting Assistant Professor:



  • Demonstrated success or potential for successful publishing in premier peer-reviewed journals
  • Successful prior experience teaching accounting at the university level


Preferred Qualifications for Visiting Associate Professor:



  • Currently holds the rank of Associate Professor.
  • Demonstrated success or potential for successful publishing in premier peer-reviewed journals.
  • Successful prior experience teaching accounting at the university level.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at Visiting Assistant Professor: $165,000-$185,000, Visiting Associate Professor: $175,000-$195,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
