The Assistant Director of Enrollment Advising is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing a team of admissions counselors to provide comprehensive advising and guidance to prospective students and their families. This position will play a pivotal role in achieving the institution's enrollment goals by refining and evaluating the admissions review process and ensuring a positive and informative admissions experience from the point of interest through enrollment. Enrollment advisors are typically the first point of contact for prospective students to learn about the College of Nursing and if the offerings match their career intentions. Nursing is a very complex and diverse profession, so having capable enrollment advisors is key to being able to role the best and brightest students to CU Nursing. The College of Nursing has ambitious goals to increase enrollment over the next five years, and the assistant director of enrollment advising position is critical in achieving our goals. To be successful, the person hired in this role must enjoy working with diverse audiences, making data-driven decisions, be able to help identify challenges in policy or procedure that impact student success, and enjoy working with a dynamic team dedicated to providing exemplary customer service. Supervision Received: This position reports to the CU Nursing Director of Admissions & Student Affairs Supervision Exercised: This position supervises CU Nursing Enrollment Advisors (3.0 FTE) Key Responsibilities:
- Enrollment Advising and Application Service Management (50%)
- Manage the admissions process, including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and making admissions decisions.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the enrollment advising team, including scheduling appointments, managing inquiries, and providing timely responses to applicants.
- Conduct complex and high-level admissions advising sessions with prospective students and their families.
- Guide academic program options, application requirements, financial aid, and the admissions decision process.
- Oversee graduate academic advising, including monitoring student progress, advising on course selection, prerequisites, and progress to graduation, identifying academic issues, and helping students to navigate challenging enrollment concerns.
- Data Analysis and Reporting (20%)
- Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of enrollment initiatives.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators, such as application volume, yield rates, and enrollment goals.
- Generate reports on key performance indicators, such as conversion rates and yield rates.
- Utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Team Leadership and Management (10%)
- Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Recruit, hire, train, and lead and manage a team of enrollment professionals, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Strategic Planning and Implementation (10%)
- Collaborate with the Director of Admissions and Student Affairs to develop and execute comprehensive enrollment strategies and goals, including strategic plans to enhance the effectiveness of the enrollment advising team and admission workflows.
- Analyze enrollment trends and identify opportunities to support recruitment and improve admissions processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance the student interview and admissions notification process.
- Recruitment and Outreach (10%)
- Support recruitment strategies, including planning and executing recruitment and student events, campus visits, and virtual information sessions.
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with high schools, community colleges, and other feeder institutions.
- Represent the institution at professional conferences and other industry events.

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of a certain number of days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in education, management, counseling, public administration, higher education administration, business, social science, liberal arts, communications, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
- Four (4) years of experience at the management level, including direct responsibility for student admissions and/or student recruitment.
- At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Conditions of Employment:
- Must be willing and able to travel to off-site locations for work-related events, as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years' experience supervising professional staff.
- Experience developing and implementing enrollment plans.
- Experience utilizing/analyzing data to inform organizational decision-making.
- Professional experience at an institution of higher education.
Competencies:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly effective leadership and management skills with the ability to direct and motivate the work of staff.
- Advanced skills in administering applicant tracking systems.
- Advanced knowledge of enrollment management, including recruitment, admissions processing, new student orientation/registration records, and retention, convocation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range for this position has been established as $64,111 to $75,010. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
