Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
Assistant Director of Student Activities, Council of Presidents Advisor willhave primary responsibility for all student clubs and organizations and student club andorganization activities administered out of the Office of Student Activities.Serves as advisor to the Council of Presidents and will provide guidance and training for all student organizations and clubs on campus. This person willfacilitate student organization, officer and advisor training. This positionprovides operational management, and engaging students in leadershipdevelopment. Serves as the primary advisor to the Council of Presidents(
COP), coordinates
COP training programs, assists
COP with their financial account management, and guides the planning and calendaring of
COP
programming. Manages the fundraising process for all campus organizations and clubs. Assists with recruiting, hiring, training, andsupervising student staff, as well as coordinating campus wide activityprograms that support the learning outcomes of the Office of StudentActivities. The Assistant Director will create a stronger environment tocultivate change and strengthen University goals related to studentorganizations and events as well as other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. |
Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The Office of Student Activities oversees the development and organization
of the university's primary extra-curricular programs. These areas include
Student Government, Campus Programs, the Fraternity/Sorority Engagement
system and Clubs & Organizations, as well as university wide events such as
Homecoming,
GALA & Aggie Fest. |
Minimum Requirements |
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education |
Master's Degree in related field.At least two years of experience in student activities, student programming boards, student development, student life, or related field. Experience with
student organizations and campus activities in a university setting.
Proficiency in financial management, facilitating trainings and educationalsessions, as well as event/program management. Proficiency in the use ofsocial media and the ability to create, manage and update web presence. |
