Job Title: IT Analyst

Location(s): Merrifield, VA

The Desktop Governance & Compliance department ensures our wide-ranging end-user computing environment maintains operational efficiency and stability in a secure technical environment. We seek a highly skilled and motivated Analyst with responsibilities of the Desktop Automated Software Delivery Project, which is focused on the Service Catalog, data synchronization with ServiceNow, and further automating software delivery for our growing customer base. The analyst will provide comprehensive operational support for desktop application management, reporting, and governing of new software and application rationalization.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the project team and developers to:


  • Increase self-service options for automated software delivery.
  • Create standardized catalog details/descriptions to educate customers and improve user experience.
  • Participate in Agile sprints, including writing stories, documenting requirements, and conducting UAT testing.
  • Work with the Product Owner to prioritize tasks based on business value and technical complexity.
  • Maintain a comprehensive, accurate product backlog with detailed requirements, ensuring readiness for upcoming sprints.
  • Trigger automated workflows for software requests, increasing the application catalog's automated delivery.
  • Enable users to order all desktop software currently restricted or requiring Service Desk submission.
  • Complete development and testing based on prioritized candidates; execute communication, training, and implementation plans.
  • Provide customers with easy access to an approved software list and develop workflows to validate new software requests.
  • Assess ITAM, CMDB, and SCCM data for field validation, clean-up, and correlation of data elements.
  • Engage stakeholders and other goups, gather feedback, and gain approval for project milestones.
  • Monitor implemented solutions to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Operational Support and Compliance:
  • Perform audit and risk management, monitor and support removal of restricted software, desktop standards and policies, and ensure compliance with Information Security and Enterprise Technology Service standards and best practices.
  • Support requests for new and upgraded desktop and virtual software, perform business and technical evaluations, and validate against asset inventory, technology, and regulatory standards.
  • Compile, review, and prepare data to analyze key performance indicators, services, and operations. Conduct benchmarking and trend analysis to drive continuous improvement, establish preventative processes, and elevate service performance. Prepare summaries and present findings using Microsoft PowerPoint, Power BI, and similar tools.
  • Prepare reporting and develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT project management, specifically in desktop software delivery, automation, and customer experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow, MyIT, MECM, MacOS, Windows, and Citrix applications.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills when presenting status reporting, findings, conclusions, and other information to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong understanding of Agile Project Management methodologies and Scrum Framework.
  • Strong documentation skills in writing Standard Operating Procedures and end-user guides.
  • Extensive experience writing and prioritizing user stories, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Proven experience in data analytics and metrics reporting.
  • Proficiency in developing reports and dashboards using ServiceNow and Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate and report statuses and findings.Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude, willingness to hit the ground running, and ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Diplomatic in exchanging information and addressing sensitive issues.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with ITAM and SCCM/MECM data management.
