Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Ultrasound Technologist-Woodhull.
In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary:Under supervision, operates diagnostic equipment to produce two-dimensional ultrasonic pattern and positive pictures of internal organs for use by professional personnel in diagnosis of disease, study of organs, prenatal examination of fetus and placenta, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receives patients and explain procedure to them in order to allay anxieties and obtain cooperation.
- Follow all departmental protocols and procedures for patient care.
- Stay up to date on the latest scanning techniques.
- Obtain and maintain the Ultrasound R.D.M.S.
- Prepares ultrasound area, equipment, materials and supplies for patients, as needed.
- Maintains supplies and equipment. Performs diagnostic testing on equipment and general maintenance.
- Develops film in accordance with photographic techniques.
- Monitors patients and equipment condition during procedure and reports changes to appropriate health care professionals.
- Checks the quality of scans.
- Performs standard ultrasound procedures on patients which includes assisting patients equipment to encompass the area to be studied. The technologist adjusts controls on equipment in accordance with prescribed procedures to produce information of required diagnostic quality.
- Assists in the selection of appropriate ultrasonic technical and recordings parameters.
- Positions patient for each specific procedure, as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:Graduate of an AMA-approved Ultrasound program. Active RDMS registry.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:2+ years previous experience.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $102,803.89 - $114,145.89 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
