Job Description: Job Summary
The Facilities Assistant performs basic facility maintenance; housekeeping of warehouse, yards, common areas, shop, and outside areas; and routine equipment preventative maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic facility maintenance, preventative maintenance, and cleaning
- Fulfill required daily facility cleaning (i.e., housekeeping warehouse, yards, common areas, shop, and outside areas)
- Perform routine and unscheduled indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks to address known issues or unexpected issues that may arise (i.e., minor repairs, HVAC filter replacement, light replacement, painting, or other general facility maintenance tasks)
- Maintain daily upkeep of outdoor spaces (i.e., mowing, weed removal, yard cleaning, trash removal, and other routine tasks)
- Move or arrange furniture, set up or breakdown meetings, and perform other office reorganization tasks as requested
- Ensure safe and clean facility operations by performing routine housekeeping and upkeep tasks (i.e., cleaning, painting, cleaning, sweeping, trash removal, spill clean-up, etc.)
- Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience of facility maintenance preferred
- English speaker required
- Basic knowledge of facility maintenance, housekeeping, cleaning, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Must be able to read and follow manufacturer instruction and blueprints
- Personable, reliable, teamwork oriented, can professionally interact with personnel at all levels of the organization
- Must be physically able to safely lift or move 45 lbs. without assistance while walking on uneven surfaces and occasionally lift or move up to 80 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines including potential emergency response situations
- Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
- Must be physically able to safely perform duties during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days, nights, holidays, and weekends
- Must be physically able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme hot and cold temperatures
