Job Summary: The Network Engineer II is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and maintenance of enterprise voice and collaboration systems. This role focuses on Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Webex Cloud solutions, and traditional Cisco routing and switching platforms. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of VoIP protocols, call signaling, packet flow analysis, and network dependencies related to voice performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configure, support, and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and related components (Unity, UCCX, CUBE, Expressway).
- Administer and support Cisco Webex Cloud services including Calling, Meetings, and Messaging integrations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot voice traffic, call flows, and performance issues using packet capture tools and performance metrics.
- Support and implement routing and switching infrastructure in coordination with voice and network requirements.
- Analyze call flow using tools such as Wireshark and RTMT to isolate and resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including call flow diagrams, configurations, and SOPs.
- Collaborate with network engineering, security, and help desk teams to support business operations and projects.
- Ensure voice systems comply with organizational security policies and industry best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support for critical voice issues or maintenance windows.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity, and Webex Cloud Calling platforms.
- Solid understanding of Cisco routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, QoS, VLANs, etc.).
- Familiarity with SIP, H.323, MGCP, and other VoIP protocols.
- Strong analytical skills to trace packet flow and identify voice quality issues across network segments.
- Experience with troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, RTMT, and Cisco CDR Analysis.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP Collaboration or equivalent are preferred but not required
