Position Description ERT is seeking an Environmental Restoration Specialist/Task Lead to support projects at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA. Duties include: Task Lead for monthly, quarterly, and annual sampling and semi-annual reporting for NASA Ames' two groundwater treatment systems as per the Regional Water Board's San Francisco Bay Area NPDES permit. Task Lead for scheduling and documenting operation and maintenance activities at NASA Ames' two groundwater treatment systems. Task Lead for NASA vapor intrusion sampling and reporting in buildings within NASA's Area of Responsibility. Task Lead for the annual NASA Ames Settling Basin sampling and analysis, and reporting. Task Lead for the generation of the Annual NASA Ames Site Management Plan as per the Federal Facilities Agreement (FFA) with EPA Region IX. Task Lead for the quarterly Land Use Controls inspections, documentations, and annual report as per the FFA. Task Lead for annual sampling at the former Navy IR Site 26 solvent-contaminated groundwater plume and generation of the associated annual report. Provides support for ongoing Monitored Natural Attenuation Assessment within NASA's groundwater Area of Responsibility. Task Lead for the generation/creation of various ArcGIS based site maps. Provides support for miscellaneous site restoration projects, including overseeing subcontractors, CPT investigations, well installations, soil pile sampling, etc. Provides support for various other ESS contract programs, including the Stormwater Management program. Required Skills 5 years of relevant experience Ability to perform all functional duties independently Ability to coordinate data collections, inspections and documentation Experience meeting regulatory agency reporting requirements Knowledge of EPA chemical analytical methods Knowledge of Federal, State of California, and local environmental laws, regulations, and standards 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to become certified Experience working with ESRI ArcGIS and databases Education BS in Environmental Science, Geology, related discipline, or equivalent. Location The position requires 2 on-site visits per week at NASA Ames Research Center. Full-time on-site work is encouraged, but not required. Salary The salary range for this role is $51,000 - $136,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization.
