Water Resources Intern

NV5 has an exciting opportunity for an internship with our Water Resources Team in Southern California. This temporary hourly position provides an opportunity to develop monitoring and reporting skills to support important water quality, sediment, and stormwater compliance projects in Southern California. The selected candidate will work with a broad range of scientists, GIS experts, engineers, and planners that are focused on solving complex water quality and regulatory issues.

The selected candidate will assist with the execution of water quality monitoring and assessment projects and compliance programs for NV5's clients. The intern will work under supervision of a senior staff member and will collaborate with professionals in water quality monitoring and assessment, hydrology, stormwater planning and program management.

Anticipated 80% field work, 20% office work
• Field work including performing field observations, inspections, sampling monitoring equipment installations, and operations and maintenance
• Data entry/analysis using MS Excel and other software tools
• Conducting data evaluation and report writing

• Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's or master's program in environmental science (or similar program)
• Positive attitude and desire to learn
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with others
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Have a valid California driver's license

The position will be located in our Carlsbad office and requires periodic local travel for inspections and field work.

The pay range for this California position is $24.00 per hour. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via the NV5 careers site.
