Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Masters Social Worker - Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC) is required

Summary:

We are seeking aSocial Worker/Clinical Counselor(LCSW, LMSW-CC) to join our passionate and dedicated care team of MaineHealth Behavioral Healthat Spring Harbor for our Developmental Disorders Partial Hospital Program. Fast paced, challenging work for the right clinician who enjoys working with a multi-disciplinary team.The Social Worker/Clinical Counselor II role evaluates the psychosocial needs of patients/clients and their families and provides diagnostic/preventive and treatment user services including individual, family and group therapy. The Social Worker/Clinical Counselor II works in collaboration with other health/mental health professionals and provides consultation to the treatment team regarding patient/family social and environmental needs. This role works in the Spring Harbor Hospital Developmental Disorders Partial Hospital Program and may supervise other social work/clinical counselors, students or other staff.

Responsibilities of theSocial Worker/Clinical Counselorinclude:

  • Works consistently in a treatment team environment providing relevant information and adapting treatment goals as needed.
  • Conducts and documents individual social work evaluation with each patient according to protocols.
  • Develops and updates a multi-disciplinary treatment plan for each patient and documents disposition options.
  • Identifies cases where family therapy interventions are appropriate and arranges and conducts when indicated.
  • Provides individual, group and family therapy oriented to the needs of children with developmental disorders and their caregivers, utilizing evidence-based modalities as applicable.
  • Manages referrals and facilitates transportation if needed.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Master's Degree in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education required.
  2. License/Certifications: Licensure by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or LMSW-CC Certification by the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work preferred.
  3. Experience: Two years of work experience in a health or mental health setting required. Experience with the developmental disorders population required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Social Worker - Clinical Counselor I DD PHP role.
