Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Neurodiagnostic Technician 1 to join the team. This role will be a Full Time Days/Nights, on call. Neurodiagnostic Technician 1 Job Responsibilities Documents, eliminates or takes proper measures to monitor the artifact. Schedules appointments, greets patients/families and provides testing instructions. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients of all ages in specific services or units. Cleans, adjusts and makes minor repairs to testing equipment or reports issues to appropriate personnel promptly. Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with patients, patient families, Laboratory staff, physicians and other members of the hospital staff. Ensures accurate diagnostic results of electroencephalogram recordings to patients of any age to provide quality Neurodiagnostic procedures consistent with departmental policies. Keeps equipment clean and in proper working order by using knowledge of basic infection control/universal precautions relating to patients and equipment - including electrodes. Identifies clinical seizure types by utilizing knowledge of neuroanatomy and physiology while taking appropriate actions during patient emergency situations. May perform additional duties as assigned. Neurodiagnostic Technician 1 Additional Requirements Certification - Basic Life Support; Eligible for and successful completion of the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation EEG board examination with the achievement as a Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG T), must be obtained within two years of hire Licensure - None required Experience - None Education - High School diploma or equivalent
