About the Job

The Twin Cities Mobile Market is a grocery store on wheels that makes stops weekly at community sites to provide customers with good-quality, affordable, nutritious groceries.
Customers are primarily older adults experiencing low-incomes living in communities without full-service grocery stores. The Mobile Market Study is a research project that aims to
understand the impact of the Twin Cities Mobile Market on the quality of food people eat and buy, and their level of food security. For this study, we are collecting dietary recalls, survey data and self-reported data about fruit and vegetable purchasing. Data collection occurs in community rooms at the sites where the Mobile Market will be making stops.

This position is temporary. We are looking for someone who will work on two weekdays per week for approximately 10-12 weeks starting in early July and ending in late September.

Position Overview

The research assistant will accompany existing research staff on community site visits and assist in data collection, primarily helping with surveys and setting up/taking down data collection
spaces.

Job responsibilities

  • Collect data in person at community sites, mainly by helping participants using iPads to complete surveys (80%)
  • Set-up and take-down materials at community sites (10%)
  • Support other tasks during data collection visits as assigned (10%)

Work Schedule

  • Length of position: 10-12 weeks starting in early July and ending in late September.

Timing of work:

  • Consistent weekly work schedule on two weekdays, working 5-7 hour shifts between 9:30am and 4pm at community sites.
Qualifications

All required qualifications must be included in the application materials

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of additional education or experience.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with people of all ages, especially older adults.
  • Ability to navigate an iPad independently and support participants in doing so.
  • Reliable transportation to community sites in Minneapolis, St. Paul and Crystal, MN.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with older adults and/or in community-based settings.
  • Strong attention to detail, committed to completing tasks fully and with precision.
  • College coursework or BS/BA degree.
  • Interested in learning more about public health and/or nursing research.

PAY RANGE

  • The pay range for this position is $19.00-21.00/hour, dependent on qualifications.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $19.00-21.00; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
