Program Manager: Patient Innovation & Engagement (PI&E)
Description of Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for the coordination and operational aspects for the execution of patient engagement activities, programs and strategies including, but not limited, to: Direct Engagements with Consultants (DECs), Patient Dialogues (PD) conducted through third parties, Patient and Community Panels, Patient Input Forums (PIFs), Scientific Input Engagements (SIEs) with scientific experts and patient advocacy leaders as the primary audience and other patient engagement related activities as needed.
Requires a scientific background, sensitivity to patient issues, strong organizational skills, and sound judgment around all the following: Internal executive leadership engagement, scientific expert engagement, patient advocacy leadership engagement and engagement with patients and caregivers.
Requires a good understanding of client corporate business principles, ethics, and compliance requirements including safe harbor and HIPAA. The candidate should possess strong project management and people skills, including verbal and written communication skills.
Requires the ability to interact with patients, caregivers, patient organization leaders; expert scientists, global organizational leaders and third-party contracted organizations while representing the PI&E team to multiple functional areas within client. (such as Legal, Compliance, Contracting, Client Creative Services, Global Communications, etc.)
Duties, Responsibilities, Activities:
Coordination of Patient Engagement Activities, pull through and implementation of strategic initiatives, and ad hoc projects as needed. The Program Manager may support the planning and execution of activities requested by the leadership of the PI&E team, senior leaders and other client personnel and approved by management.
These include a variety of activities each having clear implementation and compliance guidelines: Direct Engagements with Consultants (DECs), Patient Dialogues (PD) conducted through third parties, Patient and Community Panels, Patient Input Forums (PIFs), Scientific Input Engagements (SIEs) with scientific experts and patient advocacy leaders as the primary audience and other patient engagement related activities as needed. The program manager may also support other internal - (including - Confidential and/or external patient-related activities as identified by the leadership / management of the PI&E team. Assist in the supporting global calendar of patient engagement activities from activity planning, coordination, and closeout. Maintenance and storage of activity materials consistent with each engagement type guidance document or procedure.
Advanced degree or master's degree preferred (science, business, public policy, communications degree preferred). Excellent program management, project management and organizational skills including ability to manage multiple activities & prioritization at once.
Minimum 3 years' experience developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of complex event programs required. Minimum 3 years' experience in a pharmaceutical or related industry. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a research based or patient engagement function preferred. US Standard working days
