We are seeking an experienced Plant Operations Technician at its Reidsville, NC facility.

The Plant Operations Technician is primarily responsible for the safe, efficient, hands-on day-to-day controlling and monitoring of several processes for the operation of a cryogenic air separation plant in the production of liquid and gaseous nitrogen, oxygen and argon including plant control, cryogenic tanker loading support, and product quality assurance. In addition, the site operates a bulk hydrogen Trans-Fill with day-to-day operation of the hydrogen Trans-Fill of gaseous hydrogen from a liquid tanker to tube trailers.

Plant operator's responsibilities are included but not limited to the following:

  • Provide day-to-day operation of the plant to support the plant on-stream, production and reliability targets.
  • Maintain operation of the plant; assist in plant equipment mechanical repairs, instrument calibrations, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Maintain an error-free execution. Pay very close attention to details and execute work to the highest possible standard. Apply a Continuous Improvement philosophy to daily work.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns. Provide technical and hands- on support as required during shutdowns.
  • Follow, update, and maintain Operating procedures to ensure safety and efficiency of the operations.
  • Oversee trailer loading operations and assist drivers as necessary.
  • Promote safety rules and regulations.
  • Support other facilities in the area as required.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical, instrument and electrical proficiency is desired.
  • Validated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
  • Position will require 24 hour on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.
  • Willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to work alone.
  • Candidates with a background in plant/refinery instrumentation and electrical systems are preferred.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office are required.
  • Military experience a plus. Position aligns with Machinist's Mate, Electrician's Mate, Damage Control man, Engineman, Electronic Tech, Gas Turbine Systems Technician.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Previous work history and/or military experience
  • Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience a plus
  • Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings a plus
  • Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems
  • Desire and ability to work in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Be able to meet call-in requirements as needed
  • Elevated work required.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Work Hours

  • Ability to work 4/10 schedule with rotating on-call requirements.
