FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: 5 - 8hr shifts, M - F

Position Summary

The Certified Tumor Registrar is responsible for technical oversight and coordination of the Hospital Cancer Registry and maintaining a high level of customer service to the customers of the Cancer Registry. This position operates independently with a minimum of supervision and requires independent thinking and decision making within the scope of responsibilities. This position provides technical expertise to the Tumor Registrar positions. This position is responsible for quality reviews of abstracted medical records and any information uploaded to Washington State Cancer Registry by the Tumor Registrar positions. Oversight and management of all MultiCare Cancer Conferences is an integral part of this position. Internal contacts may include Continuing Education Department, Health Information Management and Quality Assurance but are primarily with work group. External contacts include physicians, other community health care professionals, state and national cancer reporting and cancer information agencies, regional facilities health information and cancer registries, and patients.

Requirements


  • Cancer Registrar by education and training as certified by the National Cancer Registrars Association (Certified Tumor Registrar) -or- Accredited Health Information Technician as accredited by the American Health Information Management Association and eligible for certification by the National Cancer Registrars Association
  • Minimum one (1) years experience as a Cancer Registrar or a combination of Tumor Registrar and Coding experience

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $25.07 - $36.07 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
