Overview

AmTrust North America, Inc. is seeking a full-time Paralegal-I for its Litigation Department. This position will support multiple Litigation Department units. The Paralegal will maintain a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values and uphold the standards of the AmTrust organization.



Responsibilities

    Facilitate referrals from the Claims teams to the Litigation Department units.
  • Monitor, prioritize and respond to group email box communications.
  • New matter creation in the case management platform.
  • Communicate with the various claims teams to ensure accuracy of the referral data.
  • Identify, extract and upload appropriate file documentation supporting referrals into case management platform.
  • Prioritize accuracy of data entry.
  • Handle confidential information in a discreet manner.
  • Categorize and name documents using a standard format.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities in a deadline-oriented setting.
  • Set up and document claim and litigation files consistent with Company protocols and compliance requirements.
  • Track claim and litigation file financials for necessary corporate reporting.
  • Handle payment of related litigation case settlements and expenses including attorneys, experts and vendors.
  • Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent designation; or
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of the various claims and litigation documents
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and multi-tasking is required
