NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Manager, Games based in our Charlotte, North Carolina office. The Manager, Games oversees day-to-day activities of NASCAR video game licensees with a focus on maximizing and growing new and existing partnerships in the video game sector. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee day-to-day activities of NASCAR video game licensees across console, PC, mobile, platforms and other emerging sectors.
- Maximize the success of video game partnerships with the goal of driving revenue growth, increasing engagement across key demographics and bolster NASCAR's category leadership.
- Support product licensing functions, including product development, approvals, renewals, royalty reconciliation, forecasting and reporting for assigned categories.
- Partner with department lead to shape the go-to-market strategy for new opportunities.
- Work with elite cross functional teams to maximize promotion, engagement, and growth
- Synthesize multiple sources of information to develop a coherent understanding of market opportunities, emerging customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Build and maintain a deep professional network with companies, investors, industry experts and thought leaders.
- Sustain relationships with gaming licensees, NASCAR Teams, and other third parties.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and other industry stakeholders.
Required skills / experience
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' related experience in sports, entertainment, emerging media, digital gaming or consumer products industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in sports, media and/or gaming verticals required.
- Working knowledge of the video game ecosystem and proven success in launching new products and managing multiple strategic partnerships
- 4+ years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the sports, entertainment, emerging media, video games or consumer products industry; licensing experience is a plus.
- Established or blossoming network within the gaming industry: OEMs, Publishers, Developers, Agencies, Periphery Manufacturers, Gaming & Sports or Media is preferred.
- A passion for games and online communities; active on various platforms (Discord, Reddit, Twitch, etc.).
- Proven success in relationship management, business development, and contract negotiation.
- Ability to develop and prove business case/benefits/results of game partnerships from idea inception to consumer reception.
- Outstanding ability to establish and maintain a robust deal pipeline.
- Ability to manage, communicate and collaborate effectively across all levels in the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively to teammates.
- Ability to travel 10%, including weekends.
