We're looking for a full-time, staff Process Engineer IV

to join ourDay & Zimmermannteam located in eitherGreenville SC, Charlotte NC, or Remote.

As the Process Engineer IV, here's the work you'll do:

Engineer provides technical expertise in role of Process Engineer. Responsibilities will include the development of early conceptual documents such as code review, system evaluation, heat & material balances, process flow diagrams, calculations, piping & instrument diagrams, scopes of work, equipment data sheets, as well as support of the detailed design phase.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team of engineers and designers in the engineering design for multiple projects and multiple clients with minimal supervision. Responsible for technical content and quality of discipline engineering for assigned projects.
  • Develops conceptual designs and evaluates alternative designs for suitability on the project. The bases for the systems evaluations are any combination of constructability, performance, energy efficiency, reliability, maintainability, first cost, life-cycle cost, and environmental issues.
  • Manages scope changes as required to complete deliverables within approved budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinates work with other disciplines, departments, construction, site-based personnel, vendors, subcontractors and the client.
  • Reviews and approves all engineering drawings, calculations and specifications for compliance with established procedures, design standards, project requirements and cost estimates.



This role is for you if you have these skills:



  • Hydraulic Modeling and Pump sizing (AFT Fathom); Compressible Gas System Modeling (AFT Arrow)
  • Heat Transfer/Heat Exchanger Design; Process Equipment Design & Specification
  • Experience in the development of the design basis for Capital Cost Estimates
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of applications, and the ability to quickly learn and use other software packages

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Required
  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • 6-10 years experience in EPC industry or with an operating company directly related to the chemical process industry including but not limited to Munitions, Chemical, Petrochemical, Chemical Intermediates, or Fibers Industries, etc.
  • PE Preferred
  • Ability to successfully pass background screening process.


In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $114,880 - $172,320. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
