Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join our team. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools needed to support continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and other DevOps practices. This role requires a strong understanding of both software development and IT operations, with the ability to bridge the gap between the two to enhance deployment efficiency, system reliability, and scalability.



What you will be doing

    Infrastructure Automation: Design, implement, and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring of applications.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Implement monitoring and logging systems to ensure high availability and performance of applications and respond to incidents as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and IT operations teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment processes.
  • Cloud Management: Manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to ensure it meets the needs of applications and supports scalable, reliable systems.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices within the DevOps processes, including secure coding practices, vulnerability scanning, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain custom scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
  • Performance and Cost Optimization: Analyze and improve system performance, operational cost and scalability to meet the demand of internet scale solutions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and best practices.
  • Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy


What will make you successful

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or related role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
    • Programming skills in at least one object-oriented language and test driven development
    • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
    • Strong knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
    • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.
    • Proficiency of distributed version control systems like Git and associated workflows like GitHub or GitLab.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
    • Forward thinking attitude in keeping technical skills updated on emerging trends.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent certifications.
    • Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA) or Kubernetes Certified Application Developer (CKAD)
    • Visible contributions to open source projects and involvement in development communities.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job

Based on individual states' employment laws, the following details are to comply with the relevant salary posting requirements: base salary range of $119,000-149,000 and eligible for bonus and benefits
