Waste Connections is currently seeking an on-site HR Coordinator to join our Western Region Office located in Vancouver, Washington. This office supports 4000+ employees in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada and Idaho. As the HR Coordinator, you will be involved in the day to day administrative tasks within the HR department.

At Waste Connections, culture is a critical component of our success. Our managers in the field operate within a relatively decentralized structure but look to our regional administrative office for certain centralized services, including human resources.

Essential Duties:

  • Contribute to various Human Resources related projects and processes, working with the Central Region Human Resources team.
  • Assist in the administration and support of HR Programs and policies.
  • Pull, run, and manage reports.
  • Track and respond to HR-related inquiries from employees and managers.
  • Participate in addressing employee relations issues.
  • Assist with developingpresentations as necessary in support of initiatives.
  • Assist the field to stay compliant with Driver Qualification Files.
  • Conduct exit interviews with departing employees.
  • Lead and/or participate in team projects.
  • Support other ad hoc projects within the department as needed and requested.
  • Point of contact for all leave of absence and workers comp issues in the region - working closely with the HR Manager(s) and HR Generalist.
  • Assist the HR team with acquisitions.

What You Have To Have:

  • 2+ years in an HR role (or related experience).
  • Previous experience and proven success in an Administrative role.
  • Knowledge of US employment laws preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and work independently.
  • Ability to remain confidential with sensitive information.
  • Ability and skills to manage multiple projects and initiatives.
  • High School degree required. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (or related field) preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Pay for this position will be $27.00 -$30.00 per hour.
