The Sr Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) tackles a variety of technical challenges. They play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and building test systems in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. They are core members of the software development organization and participate in the complete development lifecycle process. They develop, implement, and sustain test automation processes, practices, and controls in support of application and system requirements, development and test activities throughout the software development and sustainment lifecycles. They lead and consult on test automation strategy, requirement, design, implementation, and execution. The Sr SDET resources create high quality, maintainable, and performant code for automated test cases and the frameworks to execute and report them.
In addition, this Sr SDET is a practice leader both in practice and coaching across all of the quality disciplines with influence and contributions across teams.

Job Responsibilities:
- Testing (Technical):
- Designs, develops, and maintains automation systems and tools to be used by development and test engineers.
- Experience in writing automation test scripts using hybrid framework guidelines with a combination of data driven and keyword driven frameworks.
- Utilizing test automation tools Tosca and Selenium to develop and maintain optimized automated test suites as well as reusable test data capabilities.
- Oversee automated tests integration into the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
- Designs and authors test cases for system, functional, performance.
- Manages and grooms the automated and manual test suites regularly to ensure proper balance between coverage and fast feedback cycles.
- Works with IT partner teams to provide test data by request, through creation or modification for all phases of the delivery process via a repeatable and automated process.
- Grows and maintains technical skills and expertise through continuing education and training.
- Perform static testing on requirements from the test architect perspective.
- Develop reporting capabilities including test execution status, defect status, defect aging, risks, and mitigations.
- Generate and communicate test status and deliverables to stakeholders.
- Testing (Requirements Gathering)
- Ensures requirements and/or features are testable.
- Clarifies any ambiguity with requirements, user stories, design and other artifacts produced as part of the product lifecycle.
- Draft and revise more complex test plans and scripts.
- Practice Leadership, Modeling and Coaching:
- Provides internal training on relevant skills and tools that support Continuous Testing.
- Contributes to Test Community of Practice to evolve testing practices, quality standards and tools.
- Leads test case reviews and defect management.
- Collaborate with development teams, project managers, product owners, and solution architects to ensure the quality of programs and projects delivered via the software development lifecycle process (SDLC).
- Influences and drives quality across teams, disciplines, and the organization.
- Grow and maintain technical skills and expertise through continuing education and training.
- Lead offshore and onshore contract testing resources and interface with project and program managers to provide status, maintain schedules, and raise issues/risks to management.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field or the foreign equivalent, and 5 years of progressively responsible postbaccalaureate relevant work experience. (Required)
- Master's/Advanced Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field or the foreign equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience. (Preferred)
Work Experience:
- 4-7 years Professional experience using 3 or more automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Tricentis Tosca, Appium, Selenium, Sauce Labs, Postman, etc.). (Required)
- 4-7 years Professional experience with various testing methodologies and strategies: Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, etc. (Required)
- 4-7 years Professional experience using Tricentis qTest and Jira. (Required)
- Maintaining test deliverables via capabilities, features, defects, and test suites using Jira, qTest.
- Debugging, validating, and conducting data visualization using Splunk architecture and components for log parsing.

Base Pay Range: $89,400 - $161,300
Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
