This is the journey level performing Associate Security Specialist job duties. Responsible for ensuring the protection of Metropolitan assets, employees, and visitors. Positions in this classification perform functions related to critical infrastructure protection, physical security, investigations, and loss prevention; and to ensure adherence to security post orders implemented by regular, temporary, and contract security workers at various desert facilities located within San Bernardino County on the California side of the Lake Havasu area and environs.

Schedule: 9/80, Monday through Friday with every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day (7:00am-5:00pm), 8 hours per day every other Friday (7:00am-4:00pm)

In this position you will be required to demonstrate your capability to respond to pressing and demanding situations; perform well under pressure; serve as the Special Agent on Duty for 24 hours (standby duty pay) on a weekly rotational basis; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and exercise good judgment under demanding situations.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency and nine years of relevant experience; or an associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and seven years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and five years of relevant experience.

Relevant Experience is defined as:working experience performing investigations; and working as professional security or law enforcement with a role directly related to providing large scale infrastructure protection.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

License(s): Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

* Valid Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
