Responsibilities

Administer operations relating to the planning, construction and maintenance of Hazelden St. Paul, Chaska, Maple Grove and Grand Ave. buildings and grounds. Manage and supervise security, housekeeping, janitorial and maintenance staff work unites relating to skills and abilities in maintaining standards appropriate for the environment. Serve as Safety Officer. Ensure safety relating to skills, knowledge and abilities required to perform any job in the facility in a safe manner.

  • Function as the facility's safety officer
  • Manage the automated work order/preventative maintenance functions using MyWorkspace
  • Ensure that facility and grounds are maintained in accordance with relevant regulations, agency standards and fiscal considerations using the electronic MyWorkSpace maintenance program
  • Ensure that major equipment and furnishings are maintained in a safe, operable condition and/or arrange for replacement using the electronic MyWorkSpace/PM system
  • Responsible for generating and implementing annual department budget for ongoing purchases, prevention, repairs and maintenance purposes
  • Provide repairs and maintenance and modifications as necessary to ensure that needs are met in a quality consistent with existing properties
  • Continually seek and demonstrate knowledge in the environmental management field and facilitate others to demonstrate knowledge to result in optimum expertise and resources for Hazelden
  • Manage and coach employees work outcomes to result in the implementations and achievement of goals and action plans and adherence to established budgets within predefined time frame
  • As a manager, this position is responsible for:
    • Facilitating the selection, placement and development of new and existing employees
    • Conducting one-on-one performance communication sessions with direct reports to measure progress on goals, development plans and provide feedback on progress on a regular basis, including formal annual performance communication
    • Maintaining current job descriptions for all supervised positions
    • Maintaining awareness of Hazelden policies and procedures

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Vocational or technical training
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years experience with facility maintenance
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical contractor, energy mgmt, preventative maintenance systems
  • Knowledge of EPA refrigeration
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance mgmt systems (CMMS -360 facility preferred)
  • Technical training building automation systems (BAS)
  • 5 years demonstrated successful supervisory experience
  • Ability to develop capital and departmental budgets including labor and non-salary expenses.
  • Knowledge of budget processes applicable to organization of facilities department in compliance with organizational goals.
  • Operational knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Current driver's license
  • 1st class C engineer license or B license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Class D water operator's license and certified pool operators certificate
