Aon is looking for a Private Risk Claims Advocacy Executive. This is a virtual position, central or eastern standard time zone preferred.

The Private Risk Claims Advocacy Executive will strengthen relationships with existing clients and prospects through proactive advocacy for the best possible claim outcome, helping to ensure that our clients' interests are protected/represented.

What the day will look like:

  • Act as a resource, provide support and collaborate with the client facing Account Executive team on large/complex claim efforts in region or as needed.
  • Serve as primary claims point of contact on assigned claims and/or assigned large/Family Office or complex clients.
    • Responsible for management of the strategy, process and successful claims outcome
    • Including claim intake and evaluation, assessing coverage and identifying possible issues.
    • Work with client team as applicable (risk managers, legal team, etc.)
    • Coordinate discussions and meetings to ensure outstanding levels of communication between client and carrier.
    • Drive communication and negotiations with the carrier on behalf of our client
  • Escalate claims (denials/partials) through carrier regional leadership as needed or APRM claims leadership as needed.
  • Drive proactive claims management and advocacy service for clients with adjusters and other external customers, from submission through close of the loss file, ensuring an exceptional experience for our clients.
  • Proactively communicate with clients and internal colleagues around claim status, explaining complex terms, addressing concerns and setting expectations.
  • Represent client interests for best possible claims/service results - maximize benefits within policy limits.
  • Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with carriers and/or other relevant external parties for best possible claims/service results.
  • Review coverage positions for accuracy and to ensure the broadest terms are applied and all coverage avenues are exhausted.
  • Negotiate terms/advocate for clients with carriers or adjusters as needed.
  • Negotiate terms with builders/contractors, body shops, storage facilities, mitigation firms, etc.
  • Review insurance contracts and advise of potential coverage disputes/issues and collaborate on solutions/options.
    • Identify potential challenges/delays and take steps to expedite resolution.
  • Provide APRM client facing colleagues with claims education around coverage application, providing guidance as needed.
  • Report coverage concerns or denials to internal stakeholders.
  • Actively maintain detailed internal system claim file documentation.
  • Provide timely updates to Claims Leader on issues affecting business unit results.
  • Support APRM branding and marketing efforts by participating in prospect RFPs/proposals and on existing client renewals, demonstrating APRMs claims capabilities/expertise.
  • During natural catastrophes (CAT) provide support to the client facing Account Executive team and assist in managing CAT responses.
  • Maintain claims info/tools library in SharePoint.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • Property and Casualty license or must obtain upon hire.
  • 5-7 years' experience in the High-Net-Worth personal insurance field and/or experience in the High-Net-Worth claims management field required. Risk Management background a plus.
  • AINS, AIC, CPCU, CIC, ARM, CAPI and/or CPRIA designations completed or in process preferred.
  • Experience in the resolution of large/complex personal insurance claims preferred.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours during CAT or weather events.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, problem solving/solution oriented.
  • Project management, negotiation, and advocacy experience.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Critical and abstract thinking with attention to detail.
  • Technical expertise in insurance contract review.

Education:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $125,000 to $145,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
