About the Job

General Statement of Responsibilities:

This position has primary responsibility for assisting staff of the Boynton Health Dental Clinic.

Detailed Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides chairside and removed assistance to licensed dental staff in any service rendered to patients.
  • Assists with chairside procedures.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures.
  • Takes and develops intra and extra-oral radiographs.
  • Assists Clinic Supervisor and other dental staff in assigned clinical areas in all clinical procedures.
  • May assist in training of Dental Assistants.
  • Prepares operatories prior to patient appointments.
  • Readies patients.
  • Maintains equipment and cleanliness of clinic.
  • Replenishes the operatories and mobile cabinets on a schedule basis.
  • Sets up and shuts down clinic on a scheduled basis.
  • Assumes responsibility for understanding Boynton Health Clinical Emergency Procedures
  • Has current CPR training.
  • Has required advanced training for oral surgery assisting
  • Completes special projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Promote a safe, equitable, and respectful environment in which concerns can be addressed effectively.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited dental assistant course, including current certification and registration as a dental assistant
  • Current Minnesota Dental Assistant License
  • Should have some computer knowledge, keyboard skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture that respects and advances diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience working in a dental office
  • Dentrix dental software and digital imagery experience preferred
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $30.39- $33.79 hourly; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

Position Type: Civil-Service & Non-Faculty Labor Represented Staff

Days and Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 7:45am-4:15pm
