GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Procurement Clerk is responsible for providing support to the Sr. Procurement Analyst in the procurement of materials, components, supplies, and services for the company in accordance with established corporate procedures, contract requirements and acquisition regulations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Interface and communicate with program management and suppliers daily.
- Oversee procure to pay process for respective suppliers including inbound logistics and supporting documents while communicating status of orders to the ordering department.
- Ability to place a PO of medium to high complexity and process a high volume of POs across various programs within the business unit.
- Organize and continuous follow up around open purchase orders, quotes, and updates to meet target dates and deliverable.
- Solicit and award purchase orders consistent with the requirements of the contract.
- Work out invoice discrepancies; assist Accounts Payable with invoices as needed.
Other Job Functions
- Compile information and records to prepare purchase orders.
- Verify specifications of purchase requests.
- Get prices and specifications, consulting catalogs, internet, and suppliers.
- Prepares invitation of bid and mails to supplier firms for public posting,
- Compiles and records prices, deliveries and items purchased.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government Secret security clearance.
- HS diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of relevant Procurement experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills, a good understanding of sourcing and the ability to maintain vendor relationships.
- Direct experience with spreadsheet computer applications
- Knowledge of FAR/DFARS/NAICS
Preferred Qualifications:
- DoD procurement experience and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS)
- Degree in related field (Associate Degree or B.Sc. in Logistics, Purchase and Supply, Business Administration or related fields are typically preferred)
- Active security clearance

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work Environment: This position is required to work predominately in an office setting. Entry to laboratory environment will require use of PPE. Physical requirements include the ability to:
- Perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.
- Sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.
- Stand for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.
- Climb stairs in performing the work.
- Walk for reasonable distances in performing the work.
