The firm seeks an experienced tech-savvy and detail-oriented Electronic Resources Specialist to oversee the full lifecycle of electronic resources, including managing the firm's ILS, cataloging, collection and research support. This role ensures accurate and seamless access to databases, e-journals, e-books and a limited print collection. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong service orientation, initiative, and collaboration, with a commitment to supporting diverse attorney needs. This position is hybrid and reports to the Director of Knowledge Management Svs./Research Svs.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Integrated Library System Management

    • Oversees all aspects of the EOS.Web integrated library system, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of system upgrades.
    • Manages complex serials records for both print and digital resources to ensure up-to-date availability.
    • Troubleshoots technology-related issues impacting the digital delivery of e-journals or newsletters.
    • Utilizes the Acquisitions module to manage the full lifecycle of acquisitions.
    • Manages routing lists for both print and digital newsletters, journals, desk books, and office copies to ensure timely delivery of current awareness materials and updated primary and secondary sources.
    • Communicates with attorneys to confirm ongoing interest in specific subscriptions and desk books.
    • Generates reports such as serials overdue notices and circulation statistics.
    • Maintains all digital and print continuations, including check-in of pocket parts, supplements, and loose-leaf filings.
    • Claims missing issues and other materials required for serials maintenance.


  • Cataloging

    • Leads cataloging operations, including original and copy cataloging using MARC, RDA, OCLC, and other relevant metadata standards.
    • Coordinates with external cataloging agencies to ensure timely processing of new catalog records.
    • Processes all physical materials from initial check-in through to final shelving.


  • Electronic Resources & Collection Support

    • Collaborates with the Electronic Resources Analyst to assess new editions and filing retention.
    • Utilizes Research Monitor data to assist in evaluating and renewing resources.
    • Supports the Electronic Resources Analyst with invoice processing using the MS Access database.


  • Interlibrary Loan & Filing Coordination

    • Prepares and monitors weekly reports in the department's interlibrary loan system (Polonius) to ensure timely return of ILL materials.
    • Coordinates with external filing agency of Filer for accurate and timely filing of loose-leaf materials and pocket parts.


  • Circulation & Reference Support

    • Provides ready reference assistance at the Circulation Desk, including locating articles, cases, books, and other materials.




Requirements:



    • ALA-accredited master's degree in library or information science or substantial progress toward the degree.
    • Previous experience in a law firm library or similar environment is highly desirable.
    • Proficient in integrated library systems, particularly EOS.Web; experience with OCLC is a plus.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and other office applications.
    • Familiarity with Research Monitor and TRG Request Management System (Quest) is preferred.
