PURPOSE:
Reporting to the CHRO, the Head of Total Rewards is a global role and will be critical in driving the strategy, design and implementation of our Total Rewards programs, including compensation, benefits and HR systems in North America, Europe and Asia. The role will provide strategic vision, thought leadership and project management to design, develop, and implement Total Rewards programs that align with the company's business objectives and attract, retain and motivate A. M. Castle & Co.'s talent. This position ensures HRIS data integrity and compensation and benefit plan compliance with policies and applicable regulations.
Compensation is based on experience and the target salary is between $150,000.00 and $170,000.00 and is eligible for an annual incentive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (performs other duties as assigned):
  • Provides strategic direction and oversight for the organization's compensation, health/wellness philosophy, and health/welfare programs, including incentive plans, merit review/budget process, salary structure updates, retirement plans, employee wellness programs, leave policies, and annual open enrollment process.
  • Creates dynamic communication plans and owns the execution of those plans in the areas of compensation, benefits and wellness programs to achieve employee awareness, understanding and appreciation of the programs offered.
  • Proactively maintains overall accountability for data integrity, including quality, accuracy, reporting, timeliness and usability (includes core systems and related interfaces).
  • Optimizes UKG HRIS system and related procedures, including employee systems of record, benefits, payroll and compensation to ensure data accuracy and system efficiency.
  • Coordinates and manages the preparation of necessary materials for presentation to the executive team and/or Board of Directors.
  • Oversees and assesses services of benefits consultants, brokers, third party administrators and other providers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 10 plus years of experience in total rewards
  • 8 plus years of progressive management experience
  • Expert in compensation policies and practices
  • Well versed in benefits programs, policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
  • Experience with 401K administration
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS platforms, including systems related to employee systems of record, benefits, payroll and compensation
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve complex problems or issues using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws
  • Strong interpersonal effectiveness with ability to establish positive working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • High level of personal and professional integrity
  • Expertise with advanced features of Microsoft Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with UKG
  • Experience with defined benefit/pension plans
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • General office environment (keyboard, mouse, telephone use)
  • Manual dexterity (grasp, hand/wrist movement)
