Founded in 2017 and based in Chicago, Meitheal is focused on the development and commercialization of generic injectable medications and, as of 2022, has expanded its focus to include fertility, biologic, and branded products. Meitheal currently markets over 60 U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved products across numerous therapeutic areas including anti-infectives, oncolytics, intensive care, and fertility. As of January 2025, Meitheal, directly or through its partners, has 19 products in the research and development phase, 22 additional products planned for launch in 2025, and 24 products under review by the FDA. Position Summary:

The Senior Marketing Director will develop and lead brand strategy for Meitheal's biosimilar products. This individual will define marketing programs and initiatives designed to increase awareness and utilization focused on targeting patients, healthcare professionals, payers, and other key stakeholders. The Senior Marketing Director will be responsible for the overall performance of the brand and will collaborate with all internal stakeholders responsible for supporting the product and executing the brand's strategies and programs. This individual will thrive in a start-up type environment as brand strategist, tactical executor, and team collaborator.

Pay range for this position is $210,000 - $275,000. Payrate is determined by considering a person's prior experience and competence.

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute comprehensive brand and marketing strategies for biosimilar products aimed at HCPs, payers, and patients.
  • Ensure each product has fully differentiated value proposition, including impactful messaging and thoughtful tactics.
  • Provide leadership and direction to inform and support decision-making regarding the management of Meitheal's biosimilar brands.
  • Track and assess the effectiveness of marketing programs, adjusting where warranted and always seeking to improve their effectiveness.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, customer feedback, market dynamics, and payer/reimbursement activities to inform marketing strategies and product positioning.
  • Define and develop patient support programs and materials.
  • Engage and establish relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Centers of Excellence and Advocacy Groups to inform strategy and monitor execution.

Leadership

  • Lead agency partners in the development and execution of brand strategy, and the creative development and messaging for personal and non-personal materials and marketing programs.
  • Manage brand budgets as directed by senior leadership.
  • Act as the brand champion to both internal and external stakeholders, listening to and utilizing relevant feedback to improve product performance.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work with the sales team to ensure alignment of marketing strategies with sales goals and support in-field activities.
  • Work closely with an external consultant to identify and execute appropriate market research activities that aid strategic decision making such as qualitative and quantitative market research studies, advisory boards, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal teams to ensure compliant and accurate messaging in all marketing communications.
  • Collaborate with Payer and Reimbursement teams to create payer engagement programs that drive formulary inclusion and appropriate policy coverage and reimbursement.
  • Work with Hub and Reimbursement team to inform and guide the development and execution of patient support programs and reimbursement support activities and materials.
  • Collaborate with Trade to inform distribution strategy by class of trade for biosimilar products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required, Master Degree (MBA) preferred.
  • 10+ years in pharmaceutical or marketing, agency advertising, sales, analytics or market research.
  • 5+ years in managing a US pharmaceutical brand, oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Product launch experience required.
  • Oncology marketing experience required.
  • Proven ability to critically and effectively analyze data and interpret to create product opportunities or address issues.
  • Deep understanding of the medical and pharmacy benefit for biosimilar markets and strategic approaches.
  • Must understand the biosimilars market, including regulatory considerations, payer dynamics, market access strategies, and the evolving healthcare landscape.
  • Knowledge of how payers make coverage and formulary decisions, AMCP dossiers and HEOR resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or managerial competence.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability.
