Applies advanced technical skills and knowledge and a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulations relative to the installation, maintenance and repair of complete ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems used in manufacturing plants and offices. Performs electrical and mechanical servicing and maintenance of HVAC systems for the physical plant in accordance with federal regulations and company polices and procedures.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Performs initial installation and start up of complete systems including systems components, electrical controls, and ducting. Assists in the design, modification, installation and preventive/predictive maintenance planning. Participates as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Monitors HVAC systems and operations and ensures routine preventative maintenance is performed according to established schedules. Diagnoses HVAC systems and makes repairs as required.
  • Performs repairs of complete systems to include repairing or replacing values, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring fans, pumps, compressors, piping and other functional components of the system.
  • Performs maintenance duties within other maintenance disciplines to include repair of electrical malfunctions, assembly, installation and repair of machines, pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems.
  • Performs alterations, repairs, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures, and furniture.
  • Reports suspected and confirmed problems relating to equipment, utilities, structures, and grounds to immediate supervisor. Inputs maintenance and repair actions into equipment logs.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Minimum 2 Year / Associate Degree. Or Technical school.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Experience Requirements

4-7 year(s) HVAC maintenance.

Skills and Competencies

  • Expert in HVAC systems and competent in electrical and general mechanical maintenance disciplines.
  • Able to use safety equipment required by Title 29 CFR 1910, all parts.
  • Current and valid required State and city licenses.
  • Possesses a valid State of Oklahoma Driver License.
  • Provides basic hand tools and uses them properly.

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Work Environment Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can vary from loud to a more moderate level.

  • May adapt techniques and tools to meet special needs with approval from management.
