Project Stormwater Inspector

We are looking for an experienced Project Stormwater Inspector to join our Natural Resources Group in our Indianapolis, IN office to oversee stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) for our projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in stormwater management and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with SWPPP and stormwater management regulations.
• Review stormwater BMPs on owner-provided plans and recommend alternative BMPs based on site conditions and performance.
• Monitor rainfall data for individual project locations and prepare cost estimates for site inspections.
• Be responsible for weekly and storm event inspections, reports, and activity logs.
• Coordinate and discuss action items from inspections with on-site contractors or oversight personnel.
• Attend site meetings or project calls as required and provide environmental oversight on construction projects.
• Travel throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, as required.
• Monitor sites for potential non-compliance with federal, state, and local environmental permitting issues and report instances to the owner.
• Retain all records and make them available to the owner for the required three-year retention period.
• Provide technical assistance and follow the owner's safety requirements.
• Develop and submit new/redline SWPPP as needed for approval and prepare/file Notice of Intent/Notice of Termination per local and state requirements.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience preferred with SWPPP inspections, including on-site inspections on construction project sites.
• Knowledge of local, state (Indiana and Ohio), and federal stormwater regulations, including IDEM INRA00000, OEPA OHC000007 and EPA NPDES CGP.
• Knowledge of stormwater regulations in surrounding states preferred.
• Relevant stormwater certifications (i.e. CPESC, CISEC).
• Valid state driver's license.
