Overview:

Nursing Faculty members are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in nursing education, mentoring students, assessing student progress, and contributing to the development of college-level nursing curriculum. This position requires a commitment to student success, professional development, and adherence to accreditation standards. The faculty member ensures students receive quality education that prepares them for licensure and careers in nursing.

Teaching & Instruction

  • Develop and deliver nursing courses in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
  • Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through exams, assignments, and clinical evaluations.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students in academic and professional development.
  • Incorporate simulation, technology, and innovative teaching methodologies.

Curriculum Development & Accreditation

  • Assist in designing and updating nursing curriculum to align with industry standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Participate in program assessment and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with state nursing board and accreditation agency regulations.

Clinical Supervision & Coordination

  • Supervise students in clinical rotations, ensuring adherence to best nursing practices.
  • Coordinate with healthcare facilities to provide quality clinical experiences.
  • Evaluate students' clinical competencies and provide constructive feedback.

Research & Professional Development

  • Engage in scholarly activities, research, and professional development.
  • Stay current with nursing trends, policies, and best practices.
  • Maintain active licensure and certifications as required.

Service & Community Engagement

  • Participate in department meetings, college committees, and academic advising.
  • Contribute to student recruitment, retention, and success initiatives.
  • Engage in professional development and continuous learning.
  • Participate in community outreach and partnerships with healthcare organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Required Education: Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher (Doctorate preferred).
  • Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certification in nursing education (e.g., CNE - Certified Nurse Educator).
    • Experience with online or hybrid teaching platforms.
    • Familiarity with accreditation processes (e.g., CCNE, ACEN).
