What You Will Do:

The Student Affairs Event Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of significant events within the Student Affairs department. This full-time role also includes supervising student workers involved in event support.

This is a full-time temporary position through July 31st, 2025 or other date as determined by administration.



Essential Responsibilities

    Event Planning and Execution: Manage comprehensive planning for NLU Signature events, including, but not limited to, the NSLS Induction Ceremony, Student Leadership Awards, Day of Service, Month of Service activities, Salute Honor Roll Dinner, and the Memorial Day Hiring and Resource Expo.
  • Logistics Management: Co-create all aspects of event logistics, ensuring each event is executed flawlessly.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to align events with university goals.
  • Volunteer and Staff Management: Supervise and mentor a team of student workers, providing leadership and operational support.
  • Promotion and Communication: Oversee event marketing and communication strategies to maximize engagement.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in event planning and management, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale events from conception to completion.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience supervising teams.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The salary range of the grade for this position is $50,453 to $73,157 annually. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. Offers are based on multiple factors permitted by law, including but not limited to: budgetary considerations, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, market considerations, tenure and standing with the university (applicable to current employees), and internal equity.
