Training and Development Specialist

The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Training Specialist to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • As determined by objectives, goals, and strategies, deliver both hands-on lab environment and classroom training / instruction.
  • Procure, design, and administer training programs for machinists, inspectors, assemblers, and other personnel in accordance with all applicable industry workmanship standards to optimize efficiency of operations and minimize risks.
  • Establish oneself as the technical expert for those requiring training and certification
  • Assess training needs by conducting needs assessments through job analysis, career paths, and consultations with managers to identify training requirements.
  • Design and implement learning strategies and programs, including LMS courses, hands-on workshops, and other training sessions as needed.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements to ensure they meet organizational goals.
  • Work with managers, subject matter experts, and external vendors to design, develop, and deliver high-impact learning solutions.
  • Schedule all training events for individual, small, and large group trainings.
  • Oversee Apprenticeship Program
  • Maintain an annual training calendar.
  • Maintain all employee training records.



Competencies:



  • A strong "hands-on" approach to training with a background in any technical or trade field.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with learning management systems
  • Competency in Blue-Print and schematic reading
  • Competency with hand measuring equipment
  • Experience working with government suppliers
  • Experience with lean manufacturing processes and 5s.
  • Experience coordinating external training



Education / Experience Requirements:



  • AS9100 QMS standards
  • IPC/WHMA 620
  • IPC J-STD 001
  • IPC 610 Inspection of Solder Joints
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience related to instructional design, adult learning theory, training techniques or 2+ years learning and development experience preferably in the aerospace manufacturing industry
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing workmanship standards highly desired



Physical Requirements:



  • Desk/computer based activities (typing, sitting, bending) 50% of the time
  • Interaction with operations (walking, lifting, bending, climbing stairs) 40% of the time
  • Meetings (sitting) 10% of the time


Additional Requirements:



  • Travel as necessary to coordinate all activities or advance knowledge
  • May sometimes require working alternate shifts to train employees on those shifts

  • 20 Minute Drive from Phoenix, AZ
