The Security Contract Manager - Airport Services is accountable for all ACTS operation and commercial activities for a specific contract within an Airport location.

The Security Contract Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to security officers and supervisors by coaching, counseling, and developing skills. The Security Contract manager will instill a customer-focused, safety mindset within the security team and reinforce the need to look out for the wellbeing of passengers, employees, and visitors by assisting them in a courteous manner

The Security Contract Manager oversees the financial aspects of the security program to include scheduling, recruiting and training. The security Contract Manager will work closely with the financial department to ensure billing accuracy.They serve as the main point of contact for the Aviation Department and will work with all levels of the Aviation Department to identify, analyze, resolve issues, and create opportunities for continuous improvement in CLT.

Reporting internally to the Site Director, this position will be responsible for meeting or exceeding financial, operational, safety, and security goals by ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service and security programs

The Security Contract Manager responsibilities include:



  • Supervises the day-to-day Aviation Worker Inspection Program (AWIP), Loading Dock, Vehicle Access Gates, and Construction Security operations.
  • Providing leadership and direction to Security officers and shift supervisors, including recruitment, hiring/selection, scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, development, and support. Lead by example to motivate staff and to represent ACTS-Aviation Security with best-in-class service delivery
  • Ensure the client site is provided with high quality services to protect people and property and be available as a single point of contact for our customer.
  • Investigate security incidents and/or breaches and provide concise and accurate reports detailing such incidents.
  • Prepare, review, and approve detailed written incident reports
  • Develop safety programs which ensures the wellbeing of passengers, employees, and visitors
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and aviation industry standards.
  • Builds, improves, and maintains effective relationships with clients, employees, and airport stakeholders.
  • Coordinates necessary support services to effectively manage client site to meet or exceed financial and operational goals and ensure delivery of best-in-class customer service and security programs.
  • Manage, track, and ensure full compliance with state licensing requirements for ACTS and staff
  • Ensures all required reporting and contract compliance requirements are met.
  • Regularly communicates and provides operational updates to the client.
  • Handles any escalated emergency situations or security issues appropriately.
  • Other management responsibilities as determined by client, site director, or President and CSO.
  • Communicates staffing needs via requisition form; assists recruiters in identifying, interviewing, and hiring quality candidates.
  • Develops staff in both technical and professional skills through performance management (coaching, counseling, disciplining, training, annual formal performance evaluations, recognition, etc.).
  • Assures that employee grievances are heard and resolved (with help from appropriate support employees, as required) and that personnel records are updated and accurately maintained (Change of Status forms, rosters, etc.).
  • Communicates policies, company announcements, and job openings through a consistently updated READ file at each site.
  • Meets all contractual scheduled hours with a minimum of unbilled overtime.
  • Coordinates and/or conducts site-specific OJT, client-specific training, and annual refresher training for security personnel, as well as meet ACTS' corporate training standards, meeting specific metrics for customer service and safety delivery.
  • Develops and maintains operational procedures so that a valid, site-specific OPM and post orders are always available for emergency reference to the security staff.
  • Manages uniforms, equipment, supplies, and vehicles utilized at the account(s), maintaining appropriate inventories and maintenance checklists.
  • Takes a proactive role in communicating with the client and meeting the client's needs by meeting with the client regularly, listening to issues, and providing safety, security and technical expertise and solutions. Strives to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Enforces ACTS' policies


  • Exceptional relationship building skills and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) required.
  • Well organized with the ability to multitask and complete deliverables within established deadlines.
  • Excellent administrative skills, with attention to detail and experience maintaining large and complex filing/database systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work and facilitate in a team-oriented management environment with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Have sound judgment and integrity managing a large team and have a sense of urgency to respond to personnel and client calls 24 hours a day.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including highly effective written and oral delivery. Must be able to communicate effectively in English (speak, read, and write).
  • Ability to get along with other employees, follow directions, work under stress in a highly regulated environment, and continuously improve.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, supervisors and the public.
  • Ability to deal with internal and external customers and to ensure compliance with fair employment practices and perform multiple tasks in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
  • Proven ability to effectively network in high level public relations activities.

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in aviation management, Security Management or a closely related field. Seven (7) years of aviation/security management or similar experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.


  • Must have, at a minimum, five (5) years' experience in aviation/security management or similar field including three (3) years of experience at a Title 49 CFR Part 1542
  • Be highly knowledgeable of the Aviation industry, specifically, guidelines surrounding aviation security as issued by governing agencies.
  • Have a valid North Carolina State security license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days.

  • Minimum 2 years in a senior leadership role within the security industry, law-enforcement, or Military.
  • It is highly desirable that the Security Manager has achieved the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Airport Certified Employee (ACE) designation for Security or will achieve within six months of employment

Ability to quickly respond to emergency situations on foot. Ability to walk, and or stand for lengthy periods of time.
