The Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior at UCI School of Medicine seeks to advance understanding, prevention and treatment of psychiatric conditions affecting children, adolescents and adults through education, training, research and clinical care.


Your Role on the Team

Provides guidance to support staff. Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Recommends new and revised procedures as needed.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Ability to supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily admissions and registration activities of subordinate staff and effectively manage multiple priorities on deadline.
  • Solid knowledge of medical and insurance terminology, admitting and registration processes and related systems. Required
  • Solid skills in quality customer service. Interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate effectively with all constituent groups, including patients and families, and clinical and administrative personnel across departments.
  • Solid leadership skills to coach, monitor, and strengthen staff performance. Ability to provide thorough and accurate review of complex subordinate work and to oversee coordination of ongoing tasks and projects over extended periods of time.
  • Solid knowledge of all relevant policies, protocols, regulations, and organizational objectives, with the ability to explain them, and ensure that daily operations are in compliance.
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to effectively motivate others and to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Computer proficiency in all relevant software, hardware, and systems, including scheduling / calendaring programs to effectively set and communicate work schedules.
