Description

Support critical defense operations as an Exercise Planner (IJSTO/SAP) at Schriever Space Force Base. In this role, you will provide subject matter expertise in space and cyber capabilities, supporting USSF participation in high-priority joint and interagency exercises. Your contributions will directly impact the integration of these capabilities in multi-service training events, ensuring mission success through strategic planning and execution.

Pay: $148,000 - $163,000

Essential Duties

Exercise Planning & Execution



  • Develop, plan, and execute USSF capabilities in CJCS, CCMD, USAF, and other service-level exercises in alignment with the USSF Service Exercise Plan (SEP).
  • Set up and attend planning conferences, coordinating with stakeholders to develop exercise scenarios, events, and vignettes, and establish execution timelines and communication requirements.
  • Integrate space and cyber activities into exercises, experiments, and demonstrations based on specific support requirements.


Collaboration & Coordination



  • Participate in exercise execution as part of the Exercise Control Group (ECG), managing and controlling space events within the White Cell.
  • Work with internal and external agencies (e.g., HQ USSF, CCMDs) to coordinate personnel, funding, and equipment support.
  • Ensure proper manning for exercises, coordinating USSF TPFDD builds with host commands and applicable USSF offices.


Budget & Reporting Support



  • Provide budget projections and guidance for exercise-related financial needs, working closely with finance representatives to ensure adequate funding for both USSF and non-USSF units.
  • Develop and submit after-action reports, capturing lessons learned (LL) from exercises, and update the Joint Information Lessons Learned System (JILLS).
  • Attend USSF Exercise Coordination Team (ECT) meetings and provide updates on exercise planning and participation.


Documentation & Deliverables



  • Prepare event-related documents, such as trip reports, exercise planning products, and after-action reports, within expected timelines.
  • Complete other tasks as directed by contract leadership to ensure the success of the 392 CTS.


Required Qualifications



  • 10+ years of experience planning, coordinating, or executing space capabilities in exercises.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet exercise requirements.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide (45-90 days/year).


Preferred Qualifications



  • 5+ years of experience planning and integrating special space programs in an Air Operations Center (AOC).
  • Familiarity with exercise planning tools (e.g., JTIMS, JMSEL, JLLS, DCO, SGN, PDAS).
  • Experience with United States Space Command (USSC) space systems in exercises.
  • Knowledge of the IJSTO Review and Approval Process (RAP), Space Control Negation System (SCNS) Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and Orbital Warfare systems.
  • Experience supporting CCMD, NATO, or other DoD exercise customers.


Education & Certification



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution OR additional years of experience my substitute for degree requirement.


Required Clearance



  • Top Secret/SCI clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility


Travel



  • Estimated travel: 45-90 days per year.
