Description

Purpose:

To build a cohesive team through support, motivation, and cross training. Direct and lead the plant Shipping and Receiving associates to achieve established goals and objectives. (i.e., drop-off & pick-up schedules; packing throughput, shipping throughput, etc.). Assure timely movement and processing of material in and out of the plant, along with release of raw material to the shop floor to begin processing.

Responsibilities:

This position is a working supervisory position. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, the supervisor will perform daily tasks and transactions in support of shipping, receiving, and releasing materials.



  • Maintain a safe work environment by obeying all environment, health, and safety regulations in order to protect self and associates from possible job hazards.
  • Coordinate support activities with internal and external customers as necessary to maximize material flow in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure that deliverables are prepared to satisfy backlog requirements.
  • Coach and help develop team members.
  • Facilitate problem solving and collaboration.
  • Create and sustain an environment oriented to open communication and cohesive team effort.
  • Assure 5S is in place and sustained in assigned areas.
  • Assure that team members are effectively trained for their primary duties and cross trained as back-ups in other functional duties.
  • Assure all roles and responsibilities have trained back-ups.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the team based on management input.
  • Assure team adherence to all established procedures.
  • Must perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.



Qualifications:



  • US Citizen
  • Associate of Logistics, Business, Engineering
  • Strong organizational and time management skills preferred
  • Strong manufacturing and scheduling or materials management experience.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills - logical investigation and follow through for issue resolution (root cause and permanent corrective action)
  • Strong systematic thinking - thorough understanding of actions that impact other functional areas.
  • Prior management experience with the ability to effectively manage talent
  • Good decision making - obtains information, analyzes data, evaluates options, and selects best option. Seeks input from others as needed.
  • Results focused - quickly act and re-act to changing requirements, providing direction/re-direction to other associates as required.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, easily learns new software applications and able to train others.
