US Synthetic has an immediate need for an Accounting Clerk located in Orem, UT. The Accounting Clerk will assist the accounting department in monitoring, reporting, and analyzing manufacturing costs. They will also assist in the financial affairs of US Synthetic by preparing reconciliations, performing analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts on the first business day of the month

  • Maintain and improve product costing database

  • Oversee account reconciliations for month-end closing

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with company internal controls

  • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, or manufacturing methods to determine effects on costs

  • Provide proactive / unsolicited consultation of cost analysis

  • Collaborate with Controller and CFO to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis

  • Assist value stream and cross-functional teams as a representative from the accounting department

  • Assist in the preparation of the appropriate quarterly and annual reporting

  • Lead or be part of PDCA/Kaizen teams

  • Keep immediate leader advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments

  • Perform special projects as required

  • Possible occasional travel for training

  • Follow all company policies (Attendance, No Tobacco Products on Campus, Illegal Drug & Alcohol, Family Medical Leave Act, Personal Appearance, Personal Electronic Devices, Vacation & Personal Time, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED is required

  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role

  • Seeking or having a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Physical Demands:

  • Sit for at least eight hours

  • Use of safety equipment (Safety glasses)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power BI

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP

  • Ability to design concise reports

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines

  • Self-driven to learn and improve

  • Knowledge of PDCA and PDC manufacturing
