OverviewThe Windows Services and Delivery (WSD) team focuses on creating and delivering Windows update packages that ensure millions of devices remain secure, up-to-date, and optimized. WSD oversees the infrastructure that supports seamless upgrades, combining automation with user control to provide a dependable and efficient Windows servicing process. WSD is hiring Software Engineers (Software Engineer II and Senior Software Engineer positions available), to help make a global impact on every Windows device.As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to designing and refining package delivery systems, enhancing automation, and ensuring smooth deployments across a wide ecosystem. ResponsibilitiesWorks with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature. Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight. With guidance, learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable. Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation. Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook. Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
