Overview SCCI is seeking an Electrical Engineerto join our team in support of a Weapon System Program. In this position you will provide direct support to rapid acquisition and tactical prototyping projects. The successful Candidate will work as an integral part of the engineering design teams, as well as with end-users, management, and sponsors throughout the design, integration and iterative test of prototypes and tactical systems. This position is located inDahlgren, VA. Responsibilities: Provide Electrical Engineering duties in accordance with program and project test and evaluation requirements and documentation
- Work closely with a team of engineers, analysts and technicians to develop, build, refine, and deliver engineering prototypes
- Design electrical components and assemblies, including tactical components, test assets, and system interfaces
- Apply Military Standards in design, as well as cable fabrication and testing techniques
- Generate circuit card layouts based on prototype schematic designs
- Create embedded hardware designs in both firmware and hardware
- Support remote diagnostic capabilities
- Evaluate requirements and analyze best methods of implementation for cost, timeline and functionality
- Present findings in design reviews
- Support troubleshooting and testing activities ranging from component-level to integrated system level
- Maintain design documentation through project Configuration Management processes
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Must be a U.S. Citizenand be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor's (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
- Minimum oft three (3) years of professional experience in embedded hardware design
- Proficiency in PCB and wire harness design utilizing ECAD tools
- Experience in use of electronic test equipment in testing and troubleshooting of circuit card assemblies
- Experience collecting, processing, and presenting test data
- Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, logically sequenced, and grammatically correct documents
- Attention to detail in project documentation for content, formatting, consistency, and grammar
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- BS or Masters in EE with a minimum of Five (5) years of professional experience
- Familiarity with relevant DoD Programs
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Experience with programming languages such as C/C++
- Proficiency with ECAD software such as Altium and OrCAD
- Familiarity with MCAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with test plans, reports, and technical documentation
- Demonstrated experience working with engineers, HW/SW developers, and management to gather necessary documentation, requirements, security, and safety information
