The Director of Operations position at The Merch Collective is responsible for evolving the operational capabilities and processes across the entire organization. Working across various departments, a successful candidate will implement both systems and processes that contribute to a well-organized and efficient organization, and improve the workflow across all departments.
What you'll do:
- Optimize systems and streamline departmental connectivity by eliminating bottlenecks, inefficiencies and operational risks
- Oversee and manage external fulfillment and logistics partners
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are documented, followed, and refined as needed
- Establish and implement best practices with international offices and partners
- Oversee, scrutinize and optimize inventory across all channels of business with TMC
- Monitor inventory levels, discrepancies and overstock across all departments to maximize sales, minimize leftovers and close out dead stock
- Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring creative, production, logistics, sales, and fulfillment are executed smoothly and efficiently
- Oversee and manage Retail and Licensing channels within TMC to maximize sales with retailers and partners
- Work with senior leadership to make sure budgets, profits and goals are met
- Serve as an escalation point and strategist for internal and external operational challenges
- Cultivate a culture of creativity, pride, urgency, and accountability.
Who you are:
- 5+ years experience in music industry or music merchandising preferred
- 2+ years of effective leadership and team oversight
- Extensive knowledge of systems, logistics, retail and licensing
- Highly developed modes of communication and collaboration
- Advanced knowledge of operational practices
- Highly organized
- Assertiveness to solve problems and lead by example
