What You Will Do:

Learning Experience Designers at National Louis University assist in the seamless creation of online and blended courses with associated media in fulfillment of the University's mission, vision and strategic plan. They provide training and support to faculty, staff, and administration in the design and delivery of courses and course components and design high-quality courses and materials that maximize student engagement, learning, and satisfaction.

This position will be able to work remotely from any of the following states, but must also be wiling to travel to Chicago 1-3 times per year: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, or Wisconsin.



Essential Responsibilities

    Curriculum Development:
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and refine curriculum, courses, modules, and assessments, ensuring alignment with each program's learning objectives.
    • Develop and adapt content and instructional materials to support learners ensuring broad accessibility.
    • Ensure that curriculum materials inclusively reflect diverse perspectives.
  • Learning Design:
    • Design and develop engaging learning experiences, instructional materials, and multimedia resources that enhance various educational programs.
    • Utilize instructional design principles, pedagogical strategies, and technology tools to create interactive and meaningful learning activities for learners across multiple educational settings and modalities, ensuring content is accessible and engaging for all students.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts to develop and refine assessment tools and procedures that align with and support educational objectives across various programs.
    • Design formative and summative assessments to measure student learning outcomes and inform instructional decision-making in diverse educational contexts.
    • Review and evaluate course materials to ensure quality and alignment with instructional goals.
    • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to continuously improve learning experiences.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the development of project plans and timelines.
    • Foster partnerships with relevant departments to ensure seamless curriculum development and integration across educational programs.
    • Collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and experts to share resources, exchange ideas, and stay informed about emerging trends and research in curriculum development and delivery within diverse educational settings.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and program guidelines relevant to various educational settings.
    • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, records, and reports related to curriculum development, learning design, professional development, and assessment.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Learning Design, Curriculum Design or related field, Master's Degree, preferred. Specialization in competency-based education preferred.
  • 1 year (minimum) experience with curriculum development and/or curriculum standards
  • 1 year (minimum) experience working with learning management systems (LMS), with an emphasis on developing and improving curriculum to leverage LMS capabilities.
  • 1 year (minimum) experience in project management related to curriculum development/improvement, ensuring deliverables and timelines are met
  • Experience working collaboratively with curriculum designers, subject matter experts and technical experts
  • Familiarity with developing and applying varied assessment techniques (formative and summative) and rubric alignment
  • Familiarity with web development basics (HTML, CSS) and multimedia creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Articulate 360)
  • Understanding of different teaching and learning styles, as well as strategies for accommodating diverse learner needs and preferences.
  • Ability to apply instructional design theories and methodologies to create engaging and effective learning experiences. This includes knowledge of various instructional strategies, multimedia integration, and accessibility considerations.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in curriculum design principles, including understanding learning objectives, sequencing of content, assessment methods, and alignment with educational standards.

The salary range of the grade for this position is $56,058 to $81,936 annually. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. Offers are based on multiple factors permitted by law, including but not limited to: budgetary considerations, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, market considerations, tenure and standing with the university (applicable to current employees), and internal equity.
