Position Summary: The Head of Hub and Reimbursement Services is responsible for providing strategic oversight creating, developing, implementing and managing the patient service programs in alignment with market needs and the patients served. The Head of Hub and Reimbursement services will provide direction and guidance to the Field Reimbursement team, to ensure exceptional education to HCPs and office personnel. This role will work closely with Market Access, Marketing, Legal and Compliance stakeholders to build and oversee the Hub and patient assistance, and field reimbursement programs. This individual is accountable for understanding and aligning to the brand strategy and identifying and recommending solutions to patient access barriers. Pay range for this position is $210,000 - $290,000. Payrate is determined by considering a person's prior experience and competence. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Leadership
- Establish the FRM team's deployment strategy, and their strategic use to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the field reimbursement service function.
- Coach the Senior Director of the Field Reimbursement Management (FRM) team and Senior Director of Hub services.
- Lead Meitheal's approach to reimbursement services, including vendor selection, hub service process development, process improvements, and the creation of new programs to ensure a smoother patient access journey to therapy.
Collaboration and Communication
- In partnership with Sr. Director of Hub Services and the Sr. Director of Reimbursement Services create leading patient support and reimbursement service programs.
- Lead marketing strategy for the development of all patient support and field reimbursement materials.
- Provide expertise and guidance throughout the organization, proactively informing stakeholders of regulatory or legislative changes that could affect reimbursement services.
- Partner with the Market Access Payer team on a regular basis to understand the clinical policies for Meitheal's specialty products and make sure information is effectively transferred between Market Access, FRM and Hub service teams.
Hub Management and Direction
- Provide the strategic framework and guidance in the development and deployment of the patient access and support service center (the "HUB").
- Create and co-develop the strategy and process for establishing the virtual FRM teams managed through the Hub.
- Build relationships with Hub partner who will perform benefits investigations and other related support to help ensure patients and health care providers understand product coverage and reimbursement.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure Hub partner is meeting contractual obligations.
- Conduct regular business reviews and meetings as warranted to identify and implement process improvements for ongoing programs.
Field Reimbursement Management and Direction
- Provide the strategic framework and guidance to determine the best way to maximize the FRM team to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the reimbursement function.
- Collaborate with field leadership to identify coverage issues and quickly work together to create solutions.
- Provide expertise and guidance on Payer based medical policies and clinical criteria for the use of Meitheal's products.
- Drive strategy for development of field tools to assist in product reimbursement.
Knowledge and Education
- Monitor industry trends such as IRA related benefit changes, copay accumulators and maximizers, and Alternative Funding Programs to include in program design and execution.
- Attend, staff, and/or participate in industry meetings and conferences as warranted.
- Develop annual strategies and tactical plans in collaboration with leadership to educate external stakeholders on coverage policy changes affecting Meitheal's products.
- Provide oversight to ensure integrity and compliance with company policies in all activities and communications.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience in healthcare, biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry.
- Minimum of 10 years of increasing responsibility in Pharmaceutical Hub Services and Field Reimbursement.
- A record of effectively leading sales, market access, or field reimbursement teams.
- Firm understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations related to patient privacy.
- Experience in new product launches.
- Experience in Oncology, Immunology or rare diseases.
- Deep understanding of access and patient out-of-pocket dynamics including Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid insurance design.
- Deep technical knowledge of health care reimbursement from a patient and provider perspective (authorizations, miscellaneous J codes, billing, coding, prior authorizations, appeals, patient and provider support programs and HUB operations).
- Effective interpersonal skills, the ability to develop strong working relationships and work collaboratively.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills to work within date-sensitive deadlines.
