Since its humble roots in 1945, the campus has now expanded to include a 59,000 sq. ft high-volume production facility, in addition to its legacy 131,000 ft2 main buildings which combined, accommodate over 500 employees. What does the job involve?
Summary: This occupation requires knowledge of quality control organization and function, and of inspection procedures. Basic knowledge of manufacturing techniques and of tool requirements. Performs related work as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
- Review any customer quality control documents to determine applicability to specific Stainless-Steel operations, and to assess compliance. Independently decide on material reviewed, and direct corrections as necessary.
- Review and approve Stainless Steel documents relating to assure compliance with customer specifications and contractual requirements.
- Evaluate and direct appropriate corrective action when requested by customer.
- Prepare, initiate or direct and approve the writing of quality documents as directed and revise as necessary to meet customer requirements, or manufacturing changes.
- Justify the reinspection, rework, modification or usage of tooling when necessary, to management.
- Review vendor records and rate for performance including quality.
- Evaluate quality problems with customer representative. Identify Stainless Steel Products policy and recommend appropriate action relative to situations requiring correction.
- Recommending quality procedures and quality control functions, writing instructions and training of inspection personnel.
- Review shop planning as necessary to assure quality requirements are incorporated into manufacturing processes.
- Follow all Senior policies and procedure.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
- High School Degree or General Education Degree; or 1-3 years of related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills:
- Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply a general sense of understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Mathematical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Other Abilities: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, understand the use of check templates, and ability to tig and/or arc weld.
Tools used:
- Hand tools, Tig and/or Arc welding machines, measuring instruments such as micrometers, protractors, scales, rulers and circumference tape.
Materials Used:
- Ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their alloys in various degrees of hardness in the form of sheet stock, Metal parts and assemblies, and plate steel.
