Video: What We Do

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead our plant operations in Phoenix, AZ. Under the direction of the Site General Manager, the Director of Operations will provide leadership to the operations group and direct the operation of the facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting operational excellence, evaluating processes, and developing operational policies.

The Operations leader directs the functions of Repair, Coating and Maintenance activities including the resolution of technical issues. Administers the allocation of assets, manpower, evaluating/monitoring costs and expenses, setting and achieving production/shipping schedules. Ensures compliance with customer requirements. Oversees, monitors, and documents employee training, performance, and compliance of Company policies and procedures. This position reports directly to the Site General Manager.

Key Responsibilities



  • Operational Excellence :Promote operational excellence through the utilization of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma principles.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the operations group, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operating requirements.
  • Process Evaluation: Evaluate processes for potential changes/improvements, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost savings.
  • Performance Management: Review performance against operating plans and standards; provide reports to the team on interpretation of results and approving changes in the direction of the plant.
  • Policy Development: Develop and recommend operational policy changes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operating requirements.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Review and approve plans for the control of plant output, budget spending, and labor efficiency.
  • Leadership and Development: Provide leadership and development opportunities to subordinates, ensuring a highly skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives, ensuring efficient use of resources and optimal performance.
  • Operational Oversight: Direct and manage all operational activities, including production planning, supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency, productivity, and quality, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, implementing lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to eliminate waste, reduce variability, and improve flow.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications, maintaining a robust quality management system.
  • Talent Development: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, ensuring business continuity and minimizing potential impacts.
  • Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and quality, to ensure alignment and effective communication.



Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or related field (master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in Operations with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • 6+ years of managerial experience within Operations.
  • Experience in manufacturing or repairing technologically advanced products in industries like Aerospace or Energy.
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Preferably Green Belt or Black Belt certified.
